New twin turbo V6
I was just reading on the new twin turbo V6 in the LS500. I am surprised Lexus did not reduce the displacement. The TT motor is still 3.5L. The specs are 415hp 442 lb ft. Do you think this same motor makes it into the IS?

I don't think it'll make it to the IS. I could see something more in a 3.0 turbo V6.

That's what I was thinking, but I can imagine the car would be a beast with this engine. If you're reading Lexus, sign me up and don't play any games where I have to choose memory seats and fog lights or the F sport package.

Honestly, I'd be happy if they were able to make a more competitive turbo 2.0 four cylinder and update the 3.5L to be more powerful/efficient (mainly the latter!). I love the NA V6 in the current IS, but it is woefully due for a refresh. The turbo 3.0 six sounds interesting, but given that the new Camry has a newly updated 3.5L V6, my gut tells me it will live on for a few more years, possibly with some tweaks to improve performance.

let see what will happen, i have a feeling by next year the is350 will have a new engine before a full redesign. When i had my is250 on 2015 then it was upgraded to a 2.0T on 2016, i feel it will happen again i just got my is350 2016, lexus has been adding new cars and engines

Perhaps. I wonder why they went with the 5.0 for the LC and not the LS? Maybe because it's a lower-volume model? Or, perhaps because it's a more driver-focused product? If it's the latter, we might see another V8 in an IS-F.

I think if they do the ISF they will just use the same engine as RCF and GSF they have the engine on their shelf, engineering and designing a new engine for just the ISF will cost a lot of money, Would be nice to have the ISF back and cheaper than the RCF. I would definitely buy it if it was cheaper.

Omg I hope that this engine trickles down to the rest of their line up but I remember hearing about the v8's in the F's are being shelved to a 6 cylinder turbo option, maybe that's it.

Theoretically could this engine be swapped in without too much hacking away?
I'm not sure how one would go about getting the engine in the first place but I'm just waiting for a path to be available to follow in the footsteps of getting more power.
