Been waiting for BC to come out with a coil over kit for the AWD 3IS models. Couldn't wait anymore and decided to take a little project on for myself
Tried doing my own research online and came up short. Did a quick test fit of the 2IS Coils on the rear of my 3IS and found out that they would almost work with some slight modifications. (Rear lower mount bushing needs to be slightly bigger. Can fix with washers)
Mind you that you're relocating the spring from the lower control arm to the shock body.
So anyways. Onto my current project.
Found a set of used 2IS IS250 / 350 BC Coils for cheap.
Found a slightly used 3IS RWD BC Coilover set up for a decent price and went to work
Took apart both front coil overs to find out that the top mount and shock body both have the same dimensions. This was a huge sigh of relief.
Swapped the lower mounts over from the 2IS coils onto the 3IS coils and found out I had plenty of room to slam the vehicle in the front.
I plan to install the coil overs Saturday when I gain access to a hoist and will keep this thread updated.
Hopefully BC North America will read this and get off their asses. The 3IS only comes in AWD up here in Canada and I honestly did not feel like spending $3000 on RSR Coilovers.

I see the spring rates are high (on paper) for the BC BR coils:
F: 10 kg/mm
R: 12 kg/mm
@redline.GT or anyone else:
Is the ride firmer than say RSR springs which are softer on paper at around 5kg/mm - 8kg/mm (f/r). Not sure if this is a direct comparison and if the damper adjustments on the BC coils allow for a softer ride despite the stiffer springs. I want the dropped look as the first priority, then good ride comfort (like stock if possible), and finally handling performance. I had RSR Downs on my past IS and was pleased with them but willing to try coils for the possible improved handling/ride comfort.

Right now they are not comparable in terms of stiffness / ride comfort just cause I have mine set to a semi stiff set up. I'm loving them so far tho and I've got no regrets.
Just wish I could go lower right now.
I Had RSR Super Downs and they drove nice. I would still recommend them to anyone looking to grab them
