yes should be transferrable. Physical the shape is the same

Concern is the wiring harness connection may have change but shouldn't be too hard to splice or custom harness adapt it.

should work.. i'm more interested in the diffuser. i think the swap doesn't have to involve moving the rear bumper as many said. i looked at mine.. seems like it can be done from underneathe.

its not possible to remove diffuser off the bumper without taking the bumper off first to get to some of the screws without bumper removed from the vehicle.

if they're plug-and-play, i might consider the swap. i'd have to see them in person before i'd take the leap, though. the '14-'16 rear tail lights illuminate nicely. i'm assuming the new ones do as well, but i'd still want to see them in person.

not really hard to throw in LED bulbs into the older taillights . 😋

Hey Mario and rest of the guys! I'm new to the forum. Bought my 2017 IS 350 F Sport RWD just this last weekend. About the rear lights refresh, frankly I hate it. I hope it grows on me soon. I took a pic of it just now, right next to 3G one from the net. I don't think it has done the IS any favors, if anything it made it look a bit cartoonish. In my mind, this is classic case of change for the sake of change gone bad.

^ I agree. The 2014-16 tail lights looks subtle, aggressive, and COOL!

The 17 looks a bit too much going on. Like some Mercedes tail lights lol

Only solution for me is to just drive it in the daytime, that way I'll never have to turn those lights on lol.

That's crazy. I never saw them actually lit up lol but yeah I think i'll just be sticking with my tail lights. They look more aggressive than they do now

I think what throws the '17 taillights off for me is how they sort of stick out from the side of the car. Otherwise I do kind of like how they are slimmer and that there are three distinct lines. Meh. I've got a '16 so I think I am fine with them.

After seeing the side by side I definitely prefer the '14-'16.

BTW the '17+ is still the 3rd Gen IS - it's just a styling refresh.

I've seen quite a few posts referring to the '17's as 4IS, which it is not.

After seeing the pics together, like the pre-refresh better. The new design looks fine but extending the red all the way out past the body looks out of place for some reason, less noticeable with the clear turn signals on the 14-16's. What part illuminates with the brake lights?

I have a feeling that it will work.
