Yeah, I'm happy with it. I decided on Caviar before actually seeing it in person. Initially, I was going to go White because I already have one wash-me-all-of-the-time, high maintenance vehicle. Oh well, looks good.

 

Ha. That's the main reason I allowed myself to settle for a daily that 1) is an auto and 2) is down on HP.

Actually, though, I'm not dissatisfied with the 350's peppiness. I was expecting worse based off of the many posts I read. All the models I test drove were AWD, so I wasn't able to get the RWD experience before taking delivery. Obviously not as fast as my Supra, but per my butt dyno, quicker than my previous daily, a BMW 330ci.

 

how much different is the caviar to the actual black? And yeah everyone has white or ngp that's why im not too big on those. Nothing shines like black does, congrats tho! More pics would be cool

 

Caviar black has metallic flakes in it. It will sparkle under light. And I don't believe this color is available for the IS.

Obsidian black is very much just black.I'm quite sure it has no flakes. But correct me if I'm wrong.

I'll snap some more pics with my real camera when I get a chance. But like someone else said, it's black with metallic flakes. In person, it looks different from the render shown on lexus.com if you configure a Caviar IS.

 

Congrats on the Caviar. I got the ultra white. Black was a strong second choice, as I think it captures the Lexus L-finesse design language better than any other color. I see a few black '16 F sports around. Only reason I got white was practicality, and the ultra shade beats any other 'sport' white out there, Germans included. I'll try to take some nice pics this weekend.

Why does everyone BUT the US get the triple beam headlights? Other Lexus models in the US offer the triple beam LEDs so why not the Lexus IS? No one seems to know the reason. Can they be special ordered?

unfortunately, no the triple beam leds cannot be special ordered, i want to find the part # so that way people can get them straight from lexus

Have you ever listened to a Supra with a "fartcan"? You'll be needing an extra pair of underwear when you hear one. Not the same "fartcan" as seen on most civics/intergas. Haha.
