According to this, SiriusXM states their traffic is not available for the 3IS:

Apologies for any confusion.
I do not know (nor am I aware of) how to receive traffic through Sirius, I'll defer to OP on how to receive traffic through Sirius. My post meant only to confirm I am receiving radio through Sirius without a subscription, I presume through the Sirius promotion previously noted. I'll edit prior post to clarify.

Initially, my wife was not interested in signing on to SiriusXM with her new IS200t, but was told by our dealer the traffic portion was now free for the life of the car. For my car, I renewed last week and it was confirmed traffic info is not a cost in my new subscription. Frankly, when looking at my nav screen, I cannot tell where the traffic info is coming from except to see it is better than in my old Infiniti because it now shows traffic info on many local streets instead of just on freeways.
Having said that, I gave her a copy of the station list, and after looking it over and with my setting up ten channels she liked, she now seems interested in signing up after her grace period ends.
