saw a 2014 IS350 F-Sport from a Lexus dealer in my area with only 5000 miles. it was a personal lease car. it is not a L Certified pre-owned. when checking the vehicle history i noticed it had gone to dealers for service (i assume included oil change) for 3 times within that 5k miles, that's kind of strange isn't it? i'm a little weary about the 2014 model especially IS350 which has a known battery drainage issue that's well documented on this forum. but the extremely low mileage is really enticing me. if the price is right, should i go for it, even without certified pre-owned package?

 

The maintenance schedule is 5K miles or 6 months, 10K miles or 12 months, 15K miles or 18 months, 20K miles or 24 months, etc...
It may have just received scheduled maintenance by time frame not mileage. I have a 2014 with 30K miles and no battery issue. See if the dealer can
be more specific on maintenance history.

 

Agree with doodlebug on service intervals. They may have just been thorough in keeping up with the service in time vs. miles.

My '14 was rock solid. Not one single issue in over 2 years. Personally, I think the 2014 warnings/issues on here are overblown. Yes, some have issues and they suck if you do, but most do not. I'd get a '14 again without hesitation.

As long as everything checks out, I wouldn't shy away from it.
