Default Tire PSI for 2014 IS250

New owner here. Bought a 2014 IS250 last week. My tires after driving (I'm in Northern VA, it's been about 50-60 degrees here) are 42 on both front and 40 on the back. Do I need to take air out? The label inside the door says cold tire pressure is 36PSI for front and rear. Tire size on front is 225/40R18 and rear is 225/35R18.

This forum has been awesome for my research and falling for the car altogether. Thanks for being awesome, y'all.

Obligatory pic, because I think it's protocol:

Is this your first car ever? Never heard that you never measure tire pressure after driving?

Check your tire pressure BEFORE driving not after driving. That's what 'cold' tire pressure means.

Needless to say, cars aren't my strong suit! I just replaced my 2000 Honda Civic, that had manual crank windows, after 17 years. With the IS 250, it feels like I'm driving a Jetsons car. It's magic.

The inside tire inflation label says the cold tire pressure should be 250kPa/36 PSI. When parked, it has 39 PSI on both up front and 38 on both back tires when parked. That close enough to the 36 PSI cold listed inside the car?

Thanks for your help.

"When parked" is a meaningless statement. Measure the pressure AFTER it was parked overnight. Capici?

Thanks, gang. It's still at 39/38 front/back after an overnight park. I might take it down a pound or two just to be safe. I'm not too far from the dealer so I may just play it safe, considering how little I know about rides.

Much appreciated.

There is nothing 'unsafe' about your tire pressure. Actually Lexus recommends 38 psi for your car when driving at much higher speeds.
