With a few tips from the forum, I found the right car and took it home yesterday. Black/black with 30k miles, L certified. Was a sweet and smooth 2 hour ride in the dealership, and I have to say in Sport+ mode, the car feels like it has alot more than 306 HP. And this is coming from someone that drove a 436 HP Corvette for the past 3 1/2 years.
A few things I've noticed is that:
- the car is smarter than me
- I hate the way the gas cap opens, wish there was a release
- I can detail a car waaaaaaaaay better than the dealership.
- the car grips the road like crazy (its my first AWD so maybe they all do?)
- pictures don't do these cars justice, they look way more aggressive in person
I look forward to learning more about the ins and outs of this beast. If anyone has some quick tips on the quirks and ins and outs of the car, let me know.
Nice car! Got my car from Englewood as well. My car is black as well, bought it new and the dealer "prep" sucked. Car was full of swirls the second I washed it. Who was your sales/finance person?

thanks, and small world, first response I get is a fellow NJ'er. Meghan was the sales and I have no idea who the finance was. I'm really bad with names. She stayed well after the dealership closed to show me everything on the car and make sure I knew how to use everything. I didn't end up leaving with the car til almost 9 o'clock

Don't know her, Bobby was my guy. He's awesome! I actually really like the service department, no complaints. If you plan on using them, use Juan. Maria use to be a service advisor and was great, from my understanding she's no longer their. Cars nice! What's the L certified coverage include (warranty)? I was looking at a '13 is last year and L certified just started becoming popular with different pro games such as leasing used cars as well.
Congrats my man! I too own the same car as yours, black ext and red interior. Mine has 37k miles and run smooth. Theres more than enough power in my opinion esp when in sport + manual mode. I recently got the ark catback exhaust installed on my is350 and it sounds even better. Do it.
I've got nebula grey pearl with red interior, 2014.
Good to hear that someone coming from a higher power car feels this car isn't under powered. I was beginning to think that my car had a special run engine or something as it feels way faster than people make it out to be.
Welcome. I just picked up mine two weeks ago. I had a bad experience with Englewood. They seemed way too shady and would not budge on a ridiculous price. They were also pressuring me to sign right then and there. Only one other dealership did that to me, out of the 6 I went too. Im glad you had a good experience though.

Nah, I live 100 miles from the dealership. I'm going to use the one in Mt Laurel. L certified is pretty much they go through and bring it up to "Lexus Standards". From the sheet they gave me and the inspection I personally did they replaced all 4 tires, new brakes/rotors all around, new floor mats, and touched up/buffed out any scuffs. There's only one spot thats noticible in the sun on trunk lid. Look like it was a couple deeper scratches that they hit with the touch up paint and since its a long flat surface, when the sun hits it right, you can tell. It also comes with an additional 2 year unlimited mileage warranty that starts after the initial 4 year/50k mile warranty expires. And 2 years of oil changes/routine maintenance is also covered.

nice color combo, and from what I saw in my searches, its also a rare one. And as for the power, this is my first AWD car, so I'm guessing its a different feeling. But yeah, I think the car is faster than people make it out to be, or I too got one of those special engines

They were my 3rd car in person I saw and attempted to buy. They were all 2014 F Sports.
Car 1 was L certified white/red interior with 15k miles at Lexus of Cherry Hill. They had it listed at 37,900 and had no interest in budging. Manager called me 2 days later and asked how my trip was. I told him that everyone there was nice but the price was waaay high, said he would get back to me on the price. Never got a callback
Car 2 was a black/red interior with 25k miles at a Nissan Dealership in Delaware. They had the car listed on cargurus for 90+ days so I figured they'd be ready to deal. Online they had it listed at like 34,600 or something like that. Of course when I got there they had a 39,999 sticker on the car and I mentioned the online price and asked him for the best price I could get on the car. They started playing games with the numbers, first saying I could pay NJ taxes myself, then adding in fees. Car had a notcible 10" scratch by the rear tire that was obviously hit with touch up paint. Manager came over and I offered 33k on the car. Manger refused to even negotiate. Told me he was already losing 1800 at that price and wasn't going to lose a cent more.
Car 3 (the one I bought) was marked down on the Englewood site from the tradition $37,xxx to $34k. I put in a request and she called me and did tell me that the 34k was the best price they could do, and that the manager wasn't going to lower the car anymore. She did assure me the car was in amazing shape, especially for a black car. So we worked out the numbers with taxes and such before I came up. I had decided that on the way up that if the car was as nice as she claimed, I was taking it. I'm sure if I kept looking I would have eventually found one that was a little cheaper, but combining the L certified warranty, the new tires/brakes/rotors and how good of shape the car was in, I had to take it. I did get the feeling that they were really tough negotiators and if they felt a car was worth a certain amount, they were either selling it for that amount, or you were taking a walk. However (at least in my dealings with her) I didn't notice anything shady or any pressure to sign/buy the car.

It could have been the people I was dealing with. I wanted to buy from them because they were so close to me. Maybe if I dealt with the same woman you did, I would have. Congrats either way!
Congrats!! I have a black/black 2014 IS350 as well. Keep her clean and you will be very happy!
1st mod to do is swap all the yellow halogen interior bulbs with leds (you will be extremely pleased). You can find them on Amazon for like $20 and be able to swap all the bulbs in the car...Makes a HUGE difference.
