You should be able to tell the difference between LED and Halogens without taking anything apart.

They should be. Mine are LED stock.

if i just wanted to do the LED fronts and leave the rears alone, i wouldn't need the resistors at all?
You will still need load resistors just for front LEDs. I tried and got hyper blink.

The mirror turning indicators are LED on all 3rd-gen IS trims.

The puddle lights are halogen.

Revised. Followed instructions and only installed one set of resistors to rear signals and no hyper flash. I am assuming it is the led bulbs you used. If you used the ones suggested, you only need 1 set of resistors.

If you read your product description, it says "load resistors included to solve hyper blink". So yes it will solve it, but you still have to install load resistors

Got my LEDs from LastFit
They have resistors built-in so no splicing at all.

That is very expensive to get done but it does look cool.

I have had good luck with my 2015 IS 350 using these front and back with no hyperflash

They only start to hyperflash when they are in use for about 3 minutes straight. Under normal use you won't see any hyperflash. Overall plug and play, priced good with built in load resistors and very bright.

just did mine from Sylvania Silver Stars White to LED White Turn Signals....only thing, from past experience, Resistors get hot so rather adding that heat to the wire loom, I mounted mine with double sided tape to the frame to keep it cooler:

my favorite double sided Mounting Tape

side note: get these ones, not sure if 50W8 would work but the Philips i had didn't work:
