occasional creak-like noise around driver's door area
Recently picked up a certified '14 IS 350. Noticed a quite regular 'creak' or 'rubbing' like noise when going over bumps and such, emanating from my left ear area of the car. If i open the window slightly these noises essentially go away. I'm guessing the closing of the window tweaks the door frame which tweaks the sealing of the door... And so the noise of probably the seals rubbing in just the wrong way. (Not thrilled that this is occurring in a car of Lexus' quality reputation).
Anyway... i'll have the dealer address it, but i always find that getting info from forums such as this first helps. So anyone else have this problem on their IS and what was the solution?
Thanks in advance.

I performed the 3rd DIY and it eliminated some kind of rubbing sound you described.

Mine's not much of a creaking noise, but this happens to me even when drive on rough pavement/streets. The sound comes from near the driver side A/C or door or near the dashboard and it drives me insane. I have terrible stock tires, those ER33 and am hoping if i switch out for better tires the sound will go away. Not sure what it is either..

I have the same "ticking" noise near the driver's side vent/dashboard/window area. Occurs more when its warm out than when its cold. Drives me nuts. I've told the dealer, but haven't gone for a test drive for them to hear it. I'll do it before my warranty expires.

Resurrecting this thread... took my IS to the dealer (had it for 2 days). Service rep rode with me and acknowledged hearing the noise. They messed with the grab handles and said they coated the rubber seals with something. But the noise is still there... maybe better but still there.
Guess i'll go down the DIY route (like the link above) or try Wurth rubber care (as another thread suggested).
Don't want to be too picky... but this 'sound' makes the car seem kind of 'flexible'... not as solid as I hoped.
