Default Muffler Delete Alternative

Has anyone thought about doing a straight pipe through the middle of the factory IS350 muffler? I see it's straight through and may be a decent alternative to completely deleting the muffler. A lot of motorcycle guys do it.

Curious about this as well. Not sure how loud the muffler delete is. Do you think it would be a little more quiet, but still sound good?

But almost seems like it would be doing the same thing as a delete. What purpose would the muffler have if the pipe just runs straight through?

Actually I have done it, it really helps with the drone and it does change the tone a bit.

Could you do a sound clip from the inside while driving? and possibly the outside?

Yea I'll post them up as soon as I get back from work.

But I do have this picture of the exhaust on the car if it's any help.

I was only able to get interior videos, the first one is of the engine when it is first turned on with the windows up. The second is Windows up heavy throttle and the last on is WOT with Windows open.

I like it. Might have to get that done. About how much did it cost?

It cost me 400, if you don't go with burnt tips may cost less.

The idea would be to get the noise and tone without giving up the aesthetics of the OEM exhaust.

So you're running an aftermarket exhaust with pipes through the middle of the mufflers?

It's not a pipe through a muffler, it's a straight through muffler. What it does is actually increases flow at WOT, while muffleing noise at lower rpms.

I did the straight pipe to muffler, made a small difference, it won't sound as nice as the 2is because of how restrictive the 3is mufflers are. It made my exhaust rattle and sound broken under acceleration. It was a complete waste of money.

I tried it and wasted my money so you guys won't have to!
