Let get back on topic guys. Maybe help him make a decision?

You talked about the gauge cluster being hard for you to read and the driving not feeling as tight or dynamic as you would like. I think you might have had a bad or lazy sales man. 1) I would say check out your glasses if you test drive. 2) Make sure the car is not in eco or normal mode. Switch it to sport or sport+ mode you will feel the shift points change and the steering be much tighter. Also make sure your in a full fledged IS 350 f-sport with all the package. I tested a 2014 IS 250 F-Sport this weekend with all the packages other than Mark Levinson. I agree with you that the drive feeling is less than dynamic or engaging when in ECO mode. When in normal mode it just feels okay or normal/par for the course. I then switched the car to sport mode the steering was much tighter and the gear shifts actually shifted at about red line w/ slightly better acceleration. I suggest you try that out. I actually purchased the car. I also live in AZ if you wanted to try the car out for your self. I had no problem with seeing the gauge cluster and it was 115 degrees and sunny. In addition when you switch modes the gauge cluster will change colors so you know your in the right mode. Sport mode should change the gauge to white.

Best seats I ever had were in Hondas. A CRX Si and Prelude Si.

Well I ended up leasing the IS350. For me is was more about economics than anything since it is just a daily driver to me. However, after driving it for a week I agree the seats are uncomfortable, not the lumbar but I have somewhat broad shoulders and for me it was the upper seat backs are too narrow for me. Oh well, I'm locked in for three years but it's still a nice car.
