It's funny people don't like too much grill as well as no grill.

yeah...and this is just the start of electric cars REALLY gaining popularity. This is, by far, not the last time we'll see a grill-less front end. In 5-10 years I'm sure it'll be recognized as the norm after more electric cars are on the road.

The 35k version is bare bones, it's going to be up around 50k before you get one with anything in it. Also, I'm concerned about how they plan on providing the typical services shown to Tesla owners (i.e. picking up your car and providing you with a loaner Tesla for maintenance) when they are selling such inexpensive models now.

It won't be bare bone base version has all autonomous safety feature, sans autopilot.

If I live in the US I would buy something like this car, since I will save on gas. However, it cost more to own an electric car here than a hybrid or a good eco car, since gas is cheap here compared to the US or Europe.

Autopilot hardware is standard. To enable the feature, you have to fork out $2,500 on delivery or $3,000 after delivery. I'm quoting the price from both Model S and Model X.

The autopilot only works when you have both hands on the steering wheel. It's a safety feature just in case anything goes wrong.

You should check the youtube videos of it in action. No hands needed...

and even if it does in the future other luxury car owners figured out a way around that with a banana

Video proof or you're lying.

Jk but seriously? A banana? I've never heard of that one.

Lots of misinformation...you don't need to do this it works without hands on the wheel, but the driver do need to be sitting on the seat. It will not work if no one is sitting.

Unless I am misunderstanding, according to Tesla, "Tesla requires drivers to remain engaged and aware when Autosteer is enabled. Drivers must keep their hands on the steering wheel."

Drivers must keep their hands on the steering wheel. "Must" as in driver should for safety, but the system still works without hands on the wheel.
