Default 2017 is

I know it may be kind of early in the year still but has anyone heard/seen any news on the upcoming 2017 IS models? What changes will be made?

I was in the market for the 2016 IS 30 AWD F Sport White/Red interior but decided to wait and see what the 2017s have to offer. Also, the package I wanted, ML sound system, wasn't available at ANY dealerships in the US for that trim so they'd have to special order one for me which would take about 90 days.

Any news/info on the 2017 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't heard anything yet, but last year Lexus revealed the 2016 MY changes in July. I'd expect the 2017 MY details to be revealed around the same time this year.

Look at the 2016 GS, expect the IS to have a minor face lift like the GS comes MY2017. Probably more aggressive grill and more curves, improve interior (more stitching and the new mouse control). No engine changes for sure.

I can see them changing the front to look like the RC along with the headlight shape. Also the steering wheel and the touch pad instead of the mouse for Nav.

I could see the RC part update, probably a combined of the GS and RC (the 3 models are related after all).

But not the touch pad. I thought Lexus is running away from it after massive complaints from the RC and NX. I even think they will get rid of them altogether.

I think maybe the headlight and the bumper will change, specially the headlight since they could go with three projectors similar to RC. However the mouse is actually very good in my openion, since I have tried touch screens and I find them to be more distracting and your hand could touch something else in bumpy roads.

Yeah, I don't know why all the hate for the mouse. I find it one of the easiest setups to use. The only complaint was that it took me a month to get 100% used to. Too many people base their opinions off first impressions, and from then on it's written in stone.

I am dying for a little more power. Twin snails IS350 for profit. Maybe 2018 haha. dreams.

I, too, hope for a new engine. If they come out with a 2018 IS300t or something, I don't think I could resist selling mine to upgrade.

I suspect it'll get the 3.5 from the GS, along with minor trim changes.

Q50/Q60 - brand new 400HP engine
BMW 340i - also brand new engine

Toyota would be stupid to not release an engine for the mid cycle update and soldier on w/ a 10 year old unit...

The mouse is SO MUCH better than the touchpad. People here are crazy if they don't like the mouse.

I spent a week with the touchpad and actually liked it more, but I have no issues with the mouse so I'm fine either way.

Given that the brand-new-for-2106 RX doesn't have the trackpad, I don't envision them putting it in the IS.

They have reintroduced the side "enter" buttons as an alternative to being able to push the mouse controller down (supports either). I can see this being added to the IS.

it's not like lexus hasn't made stupid decisions before. i mean, the current generation ls is what, a million years old now? pitiful for a marque's flagship.
