Is it worth going from 17" to 18" rims?
So as I mentioned in the 3IS intro thread; I got the car December 2014 for my wife. She wanted the 2015 base IS 250 and not the F, don't ask me why.. Anyways, a year into the lease she decides she wants an SUV for the baby. Well I traded in my RX-8 and got her a new SUV. I inherited the Lexus of course. I wish it was a F Sport haha. Do you guys think it's worth it switching out the rims from the 17" standard to the 18" F Sport ones? It is a lease, I wonder if the dealer will take the car back with the 18" instead. It's still OEM.

On a base is250 i doubt you would feel too much of a difference losing .5" of sidewall. If you wanted it for the looks go ahead but you would probably be better served spending money on a GOOD set of tires with a stiffer sidewall and more grip. You would get more bang for your buck and not need to deal with switching wheels and selling before turn in.
When i put 17" winter tires on my rwd is350 Fsport this year it actually felt more fun. A thinner contact patch meant less grip and made the car seem squirmy and alive instead of numb.

Well I'm guessing I'll just keep the 17s. Plus, it runs well. And it's a lease. I'll probably wait until it's over and get an F Sport instead. Thanks for the replies guys. I'll save the money. Haha. Sometimes you just get that urge..
