Default Anyone Done PDR?

Came back home and saw this dent in my door. Seems like someone hit it pretty hard with their door. Has anyone gone through the Paintless Dent Removal process? Will it work given that the dent is on the body lines?

Any tips on how and when to get the best pricing on it?

PDR isn't going to work out too well on that hard edge... be wary of shops that say they can remove that 100%

My biggest fear, have the same car colour, I don't think PDR will work on that edge.

Well...I'll let you guys know. DentPros is quoting me about $150 and say it should be 95% or better.

If the person/shop know what they're doing, it should be fine. Had a dent that removed before on my 2is.

I've had a dent on two previous cars right and one was on the sharp edge like that. It was a 2004 Acura TL and if you're familiar with that car you know what line I'm talking about. It came out 100% perfect. However; they did drill into the door jamb.

dents on hard lines like above are hard to remove. I have a friend who does PDR for a living and he says it can be done but it won't be 100%.

but if the shop said 95% or better, why not right? Goodluck to OP

Not sure what part of CA you're located, but I have a dent in the same area, slightly beneath the hard line however. I have two dents which I am scheduling an appt for. If you're in SoCal let me know as this guy does great job (seen him work on other vehicles) and perhaps we can do a package deal.

Would be interested if not for the fact I am up in Sac. Good luck to yours too

Will do. I called both the Lexus dealers in the area to find out who they do their work through. I also called my Service guys at the BMW dealership from when I had my 335i. 3 different companies so time to take estimates and what % they can fix.

So took the car in for PDR on Monday as it was a holiday. Overall, I am pretty pleased. The dent is gone and the body line is back and it is smooth. If caught at the right angle, you can see the scratch as the other car's paint was in there pretty good. The guy used 2000 grit sandpaper to try and see if it was just in the clear coat but that did not work. I will probably try to apply some touchup paint to minimize it even further. Here's how it turned out.

P.S. For anyone in the Sacramento area. I used DentPro. The specific guy was Gary. He and his son do PDR repairs for Lexus of Roseville.

that turned out EFFING FANTASTIC. much better than what i've seen attempted. PDRs on hard body lines are difficult to do well. good job finding these guys
