Default Lexus Res+

Hello,

I just purchased Lexus IS200t F sport. My question is about Lexus Res+ option. I know there is a monthly subscription to their service, and it's pretty convenient option to have. It all sounds excellent.

My concern is, will Lexus be able to keep track of miles on my car? or it would not be reported back to Lexus when I return my vehicle. I don't want them to know how much miles I drive daily, or annually.

Thank you,

why not? because you're going to manipulate the odometer prior to the lease return?

Correct! Now since I answered your question, do you have answer for mine?

I hope changing the odometer was a joke...it's a criminal offense.

Obviously, some people just jump to conclusion and I don't want to explain myself.

I am not planning to change an odometer, it's a privacy issue for me. I don't want them to track where I drive and how much I drive. That's why I am hasitant about activating Res+ feature.

Only people doing suspicious things really care about Lexus knowing how much and where they drive...

I doubt Lexus really cares about where and how much you drive...they'll just get the how much part when you get service or warranty work done.

there was no jumping to conclusions. you wrote, "Correct!" when directly asked if you were going to manipulate the odometer prior to the lease return. reference your own post quoted below or scroll up and reference it within its original context.

I didn't sense much sarcasm in the OP's response. And even if he was, does he prefer a sarcastic response back to his question then? He could have easily said no.

If you don't want to be tracked, this car isn't the one for you... they can track you no matter if you pay or not.. go with an older model.

If you are concerned about being tracked then res+ is the least of your concerns. You need to take out the whole enform system lol or at least the enform connect. A smart car may be a better choice *sarcasm

RES+ doesn't track the odometer but does report location when the vehicle is parked.

The new for 2016 Service Connect element of Enform does track mileage to better notify
you for required/recommended services. While we CL denizens can do this ourselves there
are an increasing percentage of cars in fleets, at college, vacation homes and simply driven
by folks that have no clue what is needed. With intervals so far apart it is a way to ensure we
all benefit from owning (and reselling) our cars that lead the industry in reliability!
