Default ahh this hurts :(

Was washing the car when I noticed this... gash on the front. Not a rockchip, but a gash. As if something/someone decided to slice a piece of the paint off. I have no idea how this happened and I guess nobody can give me anymore advice other then to try my best with touch up paint?

To add insult to injury, the gash is located just outside of the paint protection film on my front bumper.

There are some good scratch repair kits. The one I've used with good success is Turtlewax Scratch Repair kit.

Default You'll need more than a generic 'scratch repair kit'

You'll need touch up paint to fill the gash. Some folks have reported good results with Dr. Color Chip.

Make sure to mask off the area around the gash using painter's tape and use the kit to "fill" the gash, then you can buff it once it's dry to get it level.

Should I use sandpaper first after filling in the gash? and then polish it? Never used sandpaper before but it looks like a necessary step.

With the small amount of paint, you can use a 1,500-2,000 grit first, but you need to be very careful about not sanding it too much.
