Default 2015 Is350 goofy idle

Hey guys, I sometimes have a weird idle. When my car is cold the idle is fine. When the car is warm the idle is fine. The idle only gets weird sometimes when I drive the car, park it for an hour or so, start the car again (temp gauge is about half way from complete cold start to complete warmed up) and I get a fluctuating rpm tach. It bounces around 50-75 rpms for a while. You can definitely feel it in the car and if you stand behind the exhaust you can here it slightly burp/hiccup. The car has 16k miles on it and it's a 2015. The gas mileage and performance has not changed. I don't know if it has done this since day one as I usually have my radio on. I heard it once now I make a point to see if it does it. I also don't have any CEL on. Anyone have this same thing happen, and know what would cause this?

Is your air filter clean?

Do you have an aftermarket air filter like k&n? These can get oil onto the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and cause weird idling issues.

You can also try cleaning the MAF sensor with a special solution made for MAF sensors, which you can obtain at a local autoparts store like Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, Oreily's, etc.
The spray I use is called CRC Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner.

Hope it helps

Try adding some fuel system cleaner to a tank of gas. You may have just got a bad tank or a dirt deposit on an injector.

I have a clean air filter and it has been doing it from all different gas station. I only use 92 octane too. If it was a dirty injector, wouldn't it happen all the time at idle then? It only happens when I drive the car and park, get into the car about an hour later, and then start the car again.

My car has got the same "feature", so I think it's normal. Mileage is about 43000 km and I've used the original Toyota Injector Cleaner every 10000 km. Many owners just don't notice this idle jumping until someone tells about it )

Imprezario, does your do it only after the car sits for a bit like mine? Also, can you feel it a bit in the car when it happens and can you hear a slight hiccup in the exhaust

Does the car lack performance because of the low idle?

I don't think the performance is any different. I think it only the weird idle as the gas mileage hasn't changed either

It's going to be hard to bring in as it only sometimes happens when the car sits for an hour or so.
