Is there a difference between OEM and 3rd party as far as cabin filters go? $42 seems a bit steep for a filter.

 

there can be a difference. the materials used and how it's constructed. $42 IS A LOT for the part. did you try finding out what your Toyota parts dept is selling it for? it may be cheaper there. that's what I did when I had my mk1 is.
