Thanks! It took some researching online but I'm happy with the results.

I might do a little project on my 2GS, and wondering what shift boot I should get.
Not sure if it'll fit your GS, but this is the one I got. And as I mentioned, I haven't tried installing the boot itself because I just swapped out the ring/clip.

just to confirm, did you use the ring/clip from the aftermarket boot or just used the stock boot with the Razor ****? Looking to do this to my girlfriends RC. Thanks!
How did you remove the OEM shift ****. I also bought after market part but did not know how to get the OEM off. I was afraid to break it . Any tips would greatly appreciated.

I believe you pull down the shift boot from the shift ****. It's held by a clip to the bottom of the shift ****. Then the **** simply screws off.
You just have to pull down on the boot where it connects to the **** and it'll come off. You have to add a little force so don't be afraid. Then you twist the **** to take it off.
As for the ring, you have to use the ring from the aftermarket cause the stock boot doesn't have a ring. However, I kept the stock boot with the aftermarket ring. When you flip the stock boot inside out, you'll see that the stock clip is held on with just a zip tie. Same with the aftermarket. The aftermarket ring is held on with a zip tie also. So pretty much you cut off the zip ties and swap them and then zip tie them again. I had to go to the hardware store to buy some really tiny zip ties though. You'll see when you take a look at it. Very simple.
I ended up picking up a razo shift **** as well. Arrived today and installed today. 15 mins install time.
Looks good. Did you have to do any special mods to the boot too? If so was it the same as previously mentioned about the zip tie? Looks like you used the factory shift boot too. Any issues shifting gears?

no mods to the oem boot. I did however break off the clips that clip onto the oem ****. That allowed me to use the oem boot.
