Disappointed and a bit sad...
It's been a little over a month since I got my 2015 IS350 F-Sport Atomic Silver / Rioja Red. Have clocked about 1,300 miles.
This car is such a joy to drive.
What do I find disappointing and a bit sad? Reaching my destination! Which means I have to get out of this car! Really, every time I wish the trip was longer.
Sometimes, I just go and sit in the car in the garage. Just because.
To be clear, this is not my first new car or my first Lexus even. 5 years ago, got a new RX350, that I still own and like a lot, but not this much. No other car that I've owned (I've owned cars for the last 28 years) made me feel this way.
Not sure if any of you go / have gone thru' this feeling.. How long does it last with this car. Does it eventually wear off?

I know what you mean. I've owned my IS350 F-Sport for about a month now also and everyday I get in I get this excited feeling to turn it on and just drive. Sometimes I do just sit in it or stand outside and look at how clean it is. Its a weird obsession but I think it will fade over time. Maybe. Lol

Tell me about it! I unfortunately cannot drive the car daily to work because of such long commute 100 miles total. I just don't want to rack up the miles that fast. I did that on my evo 8 and the maintenance was not cheap driving it that much and being a daily. I drive an older car daily. Because of this I start missing driving the car. I do drive the car once on weekdays and weekends, those are my fun days .

I thought I would report in, as I will have had my IS350 AWD for 2 years this month. I have about 14,500 miles on it.
The Positives:
I still am in love with the styling of this car. I still can't turn my head away from it as I walk away. I really need something bigger, so the GS would be a natural upgrade, but the GS just doesn't have the visual appeal that the IS does.
I still love driving it. It handles phenomenally. I wouldn't mind a manual transmission and some more low end torque, but I love that the car has a dual personality - tame down low, but rev it up and you unleash it.
Reliability. I've needed some nav system software updates, but otherwise, not a single rattle, squeak, or fault. Tires and brakes still have a lot of life in them as well.
The Negatives:
Shortly after I bought it, we found out we were having a second kid. It works fine for one kid, but squeezing in two car seats is tough. It's hard for the four of us to go somewhere in it comfortably, so on the weekends we just drive our RX. However, our daughter is just about out of her car seat and into a booster, and our son will move out of his large infant seat soon, which will improve things dramatically.
So that's it. I have a year left to go on my lease and have no idea what I will lease next. It very well may be another IS.
