Default DRL Vinyl

Was looking forward to this all year, looked around heard everyone just used regular 3M wrap with their color of choice. I chose red, i'm so disappointed. I can barely see the LEDs glow through unlike everyone elses so transparent.. Here's mine. :/

Also, if anyone can point me in the right direction to do this like asking them what vinyl for this so I can get this right at a different wrapping company because this is embarrasing. Lol.

I think you're supposed to use a tint, not a vinyl wrap.

Yeah it looks like you used a wrap that was made to wrap painted surfaces. Get a colored tint

You need a transparent film in order for light to shine through. Looks like you just used regular vinyl wrap.

You can get a pre-cut kit from Lamin-X
http://www.lamin-x.com/Lexus-IS-Seda...ers-p/l025.htm

They don't show red, mainly because it would be illegal in most states to have red lights up front, but if you really want it red, you can buy the universal sheets and trim it yourself.

You asked in another thread and most people warned against the red... to each his own.

You want transparent vinyl.

I've asked several officers, I did not know I needed a transparent vinyl, all I knew was vinyl. But red is fine, I've passed multiple police officers & they had no problem.

Did you pass multiple police officers with the vinyl wrap? or did you pass them with the tint? If you passed them with the vinyl wrap, i don't see them doing anything cause to them it just looks like a design instead of lights

this.

if you have a solid piece of vinyl covering your lights, cops will not think it's a light
i doubt you'll have that kind of reaction from them once you wrap them in red transparent film.
you might as well wrap one red and the other blue

Yeah that's what i'm saying, cause it's covering the light so they are just thinking it's just a design

This vinyl has some transparency that let about 40% of the light out, and I was driving at night & still didn't get pulled over. :-)

Officers interpret and enforce laws, they don't write them. They all use varying levels of judgment in what they chose to enforce. Good luck when you meet up with one that isn't interested in your justification and still writes you a citation.
