it is disappointing that it wasn't an option, but asking dude's cousin isn't going to get you the answers. we'd have to ask corporate. memory seats, memory telescoping stering wheels and adjusting side view mirrors would've been golden, but i guess that's why they made the GS huh?
I don't think any of us was actually expecting an answer from dude's cousin - just venting I suppose. And some of us consciously decided on an IS because of its sportiness and nimble handling and were willing to do without some of the niceties that it doesn't come with. It just seems it wouldn't have required much more effort on the part of Lexus to make available things like parking assist and memory seats on the F-Sport.
Yeah, not gonna lie, this should be a standard for any car in this class... Though, it's not a big deal for me personally, it is annoying when someone uses your car and everything is changed.
Also, the manual steering-wheel tilt on the F-Sport is rather silly too.
My cousin is the chief mechanic for Lexus headquarters. He said the memory seats are associated with the keys. When you enter the car with a particular key, the seats readjusts to the last setting the seat was in when that key was used.
My F Sport (Australian spec) is fully optioned so it comes with Memory Seats.
There are 3 preset buttons ( i.e Present 1, 2 & 3) on the drivers side door which has memory settings for seat, steering wheel and exterior mirrors.
I am not aware if option is available to program these presets to your key fob.
in some cars the key fob is tied to memory seats so that the seats adjust to each driver's keys. in other words, your key will adjust to you when you unlock the door and vice versa with the other key(s).
you guys are lucky that you can get all those options on the f sport!

I have a powered steering wheel that automatically retracts when I turn the car off then sets back into place when the car is turned on. It's included on models with VGRS.
Look at Apple. It all comes down monetization and optimization and leaving a core audience hungry.
Economies of scale, demographic targeting, slimmer margins to cover R&D, more steel for added length, added welding points, new foam seat process, the LFA gauge -- it all needs to be monetized. Also, the regular IS may have a big enough margin to cover the smaller Fsport margin or the other way around.
