I didn't install on my IS but I did the spoiler install on my Camry.
It's really easy. Just tape the template properly, mark the drill hole with a pencil or push pin then drill. The bolt and clip has wiggle room so the drill hole doesn't have to be 100% but not 90% or less.
The hard part of the install is "Do you have a gut to drill on the spotless trunk?"

Also, those who install without bolt down, and think the spoiler is light and not really going anywhere. Well it may not flying off the trunk today but it may some day. And how many of you think that one day you will take off the spoiler from the car? Would it leave some fugly mark on the trunk once remove?
Think about it before you put the spoiler on either by tape only or bold down + tape.
BTW, if you decide to drill the trunk, make sure you put some rust inhibitor around the drill hole to help prevent rust.

I ended up reinstalling my spoiler the right way by drilling holes and bolting it on. The tape eventually started lifting on one side due to it not being strong enough to hold the spoiler in place during heatwaves with the car parked out in the baking sun. The spoiler material seems to twist into different shape when it gets hot and then goes back to previous position once it cools down. At least this was the case for mines.

Anyways I made a install video for anybody that decides to bolt it on just like how Lexus does it to cars that came with it originally so you have idea how involved the process is.

This seems a little high for install cost. How difficult is it to install by yourself? I'm a bit of a newbie and this will be my first time installing a spoiler.

Thanks!
They are lying to you. I got my spoiler from the dealership for round 500 Canadian dollar everything included but it's not bolted. They just 3M tape the ****. I got **** off as my saw the gap on my spoiler only after 5 months and ask the dealer if it was bolted on and they are the one that told me it wasn't bolted on and was just using 3M.

You can see the pictures between the good side with no gap and the bad side with a big gap and like i said it was from the dealership and i only had it on for 5 to 6 months max.
