Default Perfect Tire Setup - 20x9/10.5 32&45 offset - 3IS

Hi CL community,

I know this has been asked so many times. It's been a while since the last time I was here and I can't find the thread with this info.

I'm buying some 20 wheels for my IS and I'm wondering what the perfect tire setup would be for my wheels. Here are the specs for the wheels:

a. 20x9 / 20x10.5
b. Offset 32 F & 45 R
c. Not lowered at the moment / planning on doing so with RSR Down

I will need the following info:

1. Perfect staggered tire setup
2. Rubbing issues once lowered??

All help is appreciated. Thanks

bump. I'm currently lowered on RSR Down springs and am thinking about getting some 20s as well with your exact same offset.

Was thinking about buying the Rohana RF2 wheels and would be interested in what folks recommend for tires.

There might be rubbing when doing turns/running over bumps... pretty close.

I was running 20x9 +32/20x10.5 +45 Vossen CV5s with 225/30/20 front tires and 255/30/20 rear tires on RSR Down Springs. I didn't have many rubbing issues. I went over a very large speed bump a little too fast and it rubbed a bit but this is the best setup. I also recommend getting the SPC rear camber kit to prevent camber wear.

Thanks. Your suggestion comes to close to Need4Speed. They recommended 235/30-20 & 255/30-20. I just think that it will look so stretched.

I will be watching this thread intently. I want down springs for my AWD as well with a 10" wheel and +42 offset. If this works for you I should be ok as well

Update:

I found 2IS owners running 20's on 235/35-20 & 275/30-20. Some were having rubbing issues due to coilovers. I may be able to get away with this setup since I will be lowered on springs and it's not a huge drop.

I agree with MR_CV5. I also run 20x9 +32/20x10.5 +45 with 225/30/20 fronts and 255/30/20 rears. I'm dropped on RS*R Downs also. No rubbing issues unless I go over a tall speed bump or hit a huge dip on the freeway with a full car.

So, I'd say go with 225/30/20 fronts and 255/30/20 rears to be safe. A little stretched but I like the look.

For you guys (bruteshot2 & MR_CV5), what's the finger gap with the RSR Down? I've been told that the AWD sits higher than RWD, so the drop will not be as huge as a RWD. That being said, I may be able to get away with 225-35-20 and 275/30-20 in the back.

I have a 2 finger gap in the front and a 1 finger gap in the rear.
