Default climate control temperature changing on its own

Hey Everyone,

Just picked up my 2015 IS 350 F Sport two days ago. Really got to take it out for the first extended drive today. The drivers side temperature controls seem to be increasing and decreasing on their own. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

The sliding control is very sensitive on my 2014 IS350F. You might want to see if you are accidently bumping the slide with a knuckle or another finger while changing audio settings near the panel? I still accidentally change temperature to 68 without realizing it sometimes.

I am definitely not touching the controls. It may have something to do with the sun shinning on the slide?

I would try cleaning the controls with a damp cloth and then dry them. See if that makes any difference. Might be as simple as something from the dealer getting on it and activating the controls. If you got the interior protectant I would suspect that, they definitely aren't very careful when applying that.

Otherwise I would take it back to the dealer, might be a defect in the climate controls.

In the winter, sometimes i had snow on my gloves and it would drip onto the controller and change the temp. moisture will screw with that functionality

Sometime when I touch to increase temp it would lower the temp for no reason, haven't seen it changed by itself though.

OP, are you sure it's the temperature control that's changing and not the fan speed? When you put the a/c on automatic, the fan speed will increase and decrease occasionally as the a/c tries to maintain the cabin at the temperature you set. Possibly making it feel breezier at times. However, If it is the temperature control and not the fan speed that's changing, that has got to be a problem with the car.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. Im taking the car in to the dealership on Thursday to get it checked out. Its definitely the temp changing up and down on its own. Now the control will even stop working at all. I will report in on what the problem was.

Ok so I got my car back after being in at the dealership for 2 days. I had the pleasure of being the first car that they had seen with this issue. After testing they found that there was an internal fault in the AC control assembly. They replaced the whole contol assembly and its seems to be in working order.

You are not the first person with this. We have a 2015 IS350 F Sport and when the temperature outside is below 40 degrees, the AC settings (temp, fan location, fan speed) reset sometimes to random settings. The car has been to 2 different dealers (probably 3 times each) in Houston and they say they can't get it to duplicate (once they did) and therefore cannot fix it. They can't duplicate it because by the time you get the car into the dealer (during the day) the temp outside is back up to 70 degrees (even in December). i will print out what they changed in yours, but having a very difficult time trying to get them to change anything without see the problem happen more than once.
