That's what I'm going to do. Buy black antenna .Here's link to Sewell if you or anyone is interested http://is.sewellparts.com/oem-catalo...S350-2014.html

Sewell is shutting down online store March 1st.

Only 44$ shipped.

Is that a cover antenna or the actual antenna with wires? $44 is cheap!

Just the cover itself. No wires or anything. But all you need is the cover, the wires are interchangeable.

What part are you in? There's a forum sponsor that has done many roofs. He's in OC but he can go to you for a fee.

I'm in the Long Beach area, so OC is in my backyard. Any link to their work?

Just got de-chromed myself. For the roof, he didn't take the antenna off because he said it required 2.5 hours of labor to take off & replace. The result is a little bit of white showing and discoloration in the vinyl because it was stretched so much. I have a full car wrap on my other vehicle so I know vinyl work isn't always perfect, but am I being out of line here? It just looks mickey mouse to me. From a distance it looks great though.

I know vinyl work can't be perfect all the time, but in this case, i feel like it could have be done way better than that. I've worked with vinyl for quite some time now, and i can tell you that it can be done better. I would honestly see about getting some of your money back if you paid a lot for the job. The roof antenna is a pain, but i would have just ran seams along the lines of the antenna rather than to try and stretch it so much. It can be done in three pieces easily. One piece on the back, and one on each side with a seam down the middle and on the back edges. The key to running a seam with vinyl is to follow a body line with it. That hides the seam really well. Now this is only if you have to avoid removing the antenna. In my case, i bought a prepainted antenna cover in gloss black from Sewell parts and just swapped mine out. It was a little bit of work, though. You have to remove the two C pillar covers, roof handles, and the rear dome light. Basically have to drop the whole back half of the headliner to get to the bolt for the antenna. And correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like they tried to cover up the edge where the antenna base is with a sharpie or paint marker of some type.

For my grill i wrapped the inside edge first (where you have chrome showing), then cut it along the body line. Then wrapped over the rest of the grill in one piece with a seam along the body line where i cut the inside edge piece.

Not sure if you can see it from this angle or not, but this is my grill result.

As for the window trim, it is quite difficult to cut the edge just right along the rubber, but it can be done if you take your time with it.

Here's a pic of my window trim result.

Sorry the long post but I just had to give my 2 cents. I don't mean to talk down at all, but i just hate seeing people their hard earned money and end up with results they aren't happy with.

I was going to go with him but it might be a hassle since I'm in SD. He wasn't too crazy about doing the antenna as well. The shop I'm planning to go to did the vinyl for the fast and furious cars!

Thanks Tai3IS. Just talked to him today & he's going to touch some of it up but doesn't sound like I'm going to get it perfect.
