I got my antenna wrapped. Not sure how they took it off. And I agree, not a big fan of keeping the fin color while wrapping the roof gloss black, sticks out like a sore thumb.
I know that wrapping the antenna is a bit trickier and ideally, should wrap it with one piece. Alternatively, some people purchased the obsidian black fin and just simply replaced their original.
I did my roof with the 3M 1080 material, but i have noticed that the Avery material has a slightly "glossier" look. You can't go wrong with either brand (3M or Avery).
Scratches with the gloss black vinyl is inevitable. Most of them can polish/buff out with a nice wax.
Agree with either brand being high quality.
I have the Avery Supreme Gloss Black and into its second winter exposed to lots of freeze/thaw, with no peeling or fading issues. Very happy with the durability though fine scratches will show up close but I'm able to buff most of them out with Mother's micro-polishing glaze.
The place I took my car to did NOT take my antenna off and there is a horribly ugly seam down the middle behind the antenna. They just did shoddy work all together. I got my money back and am currently looking for another shop to do it...
That looks really good. Its a little dark so can't see it in detail but still looks good. I can't find anyone in my state that would do this since I live in a shi**y state (RI). And I know if I do it myself I'll screw up.
Got the roof and antenna wrapped in gloss black for my isf. The guy did remove the antenna and the roof layed perfect. The antenna though is one tricky s.o.b and requires there to be a line somewhere, mines not in the middle but down one of the edges and it's starting to lift. The wrapper (lol) told me to come by and he will redo the antenna. A part of me just wants to find a factory black antenna, buy it and install that. Good luck...
