Hi gentlemen's ! Excuse me for a new opened thread, but I'm sure it will be helpful for many of us. I did a huge research, but unfortunately I didn't find my answers.


Car: Lexus IS 250 AWD F poop.
Wheels: 19 Vossen VFS2, the tire specs are the same as here

I'm leaving in a ****ty place New Jersey ( almost every week driving to the hell which is NY)
Now I'm decided to drop my car. The lowest I can go is:

-RS-R HALF DOWN LOWERING SPRINGS.
-TEIN H TECH LOWERING SPRINGS.

But unfortunately I was faced with unexplained problem. All springs of mine designed for RWD

Is there any way to install that springs on my 250 AWD? Please someone who did that help me.
We finally got rear camber arms and now I faced with other problem....only for RWD

You know us NYers say the same thing about Jersey . If you're driving to the city, you're really asking for it between the potholes, speed bumps, etc. I wouldn't lower my car if I were you.

 

Just want to drop for 1 inch :-(

 

I had RSR Super Downs on my AWD. Their website said the springs fit both RWD and AWD. I'd doublecheck compatibility, as I'd imagine it may be the same with Half Downs.

 

Oh so you thinking that half down will fit to AWD ?

 

I'm not sure where I saw a thread about the RSR springs on here, but I did see one with pictures. Maybe someone on there can help you! I'll see if I can find it

 

I slammed a pothole getting on 684 south the other week bending a rim and kicking the alignment. My ride height ain't going anywhere while living in NY / CT. lol

ok guys I spoke with RSR company. They said that the springs for RWD will fit AWD, but....

But our cars which is AWD some how lighter than RWD. So If I (awd) will flash RSR Half Down springs, it will be stock lowering (-0.3inch) which is stupid to do.

They said the best way to go is RSR Down which will give your AWD car the same measurement (specs) as Tein H or almost as Half Down.

Now numbers:

RWD drop (RSR DOWN):

Front -30mm to -35mm (-1.2inch to -1.4inch)
Rear -25mm to -30mm (-1.0inch to -1.2inch)


AWD drop (RSR DOWN:

Front -25mm to -30mm (-1.0inch to -1.2inch)
Rear -20mm to -25mm (-0.8inch to -1.0inch)

Thanks for reaching out RSR. They told you the AWD is lighter than the RWD? The AWD IS is in fact about 150 lbs heavier than the RWD which means the added weight would drop the car further down. Perhaps you can circle back with RSR to confirm?

 

Sorry didn't mean that.... they mean that RWD getting much lower than AWD on same springs.

 

Does the AWD drop give the reverse/negative rake look? I’m trying to decide between RS-R, Tanabe and Swift but really don’t like when the rear looks lower than the front. Anybody know what springs will not do this on a 2015 AWD?
