Default Test Drive and 6 footers please respond

hi all took out a is250 f sport tonight thinking about buying one with the 6,
i will put some thoughts below since it might help someone in buying one but heres the main question
i am 5"11 to 6 feet and 200lbs, i felts extremely tucked in to say the least. the seats were firm and supportive but does anyone thats 6 foot have an issue with spending hours behind the wheel and feeling confined. even if the seat is up little bit the steering wheel doesn't tilt up that much your thoughts are appreciated,
some thoughts on test drive
Suspension nice mix of firm but nice ride
outstanding cornerning
nice gauges,
standard radio is pretty good
nav screen little small
structure on fidgety of the car and suspension feels german vault tight
not impressed with 250 6 in performance, in kick down and power
smooth off the line with 6
sunroof felt great with air and position of sunroof
safe driving lexus did a great job with car but 45k for it seems little steep
cheers

Going in and out of f sport is a bit cumbersome so to speak. I own this car for about a year and i can attest that very well. Once you position urself however it is a very comfy place to be. It is only that ingress and outgress activity is problematic. Well that is the price to pay when driving a sports car.

Agreed. I'm about 6'6, 210lbs and once I'm in the car I feel plenty comfortable, even after hours behind the wheel. Getting in and (mostly) out is a bit of a pain but that's what you're getting into with this type of car. Re: the 250 if you're not happy with the power it puts down you might consider the 350 or something completely different. It doesn't scream off the start either but you've got plenty of power for passing.

Also I lol'd at people who are 5'11-6'2 complaining they have it rough being 'tall'

Good luck with the car search!

6' 0" and 250 lbs. Honestly the F-Sport seat is comfortable during my 45 min commute every morning, but I'm really at the physical limit for the seat width. I fill up all the space and getting in and out of the car is not easy.

I am 6" and totally agree with salvadorik. Comparatively, getting in and out of the 3IS is easier than my old BMW 3 series (e46) and than my wife's Audi A5 vert.

Having had my 350 F Sport for a few days, I can echo all the above. Other half is 5'10" 170 and it fits like a nice glove once he's in, but a little more contorting in / out. We ferry a short 225 lb friend around who said the same, it's more comfortable and a better ride in F or R vs. our 2005 Acura TL. Got it for $46.9 in VA which is still lower than the Q50S.

6' 2" 270. Getting in and out isn't difficult, but I do have the power telescoping steering wheel that helps make it a little easier. There's a setting to only have the seat go back 1/2 way that helps too. When I first got the car the seat would go back all the way which made it harder to get out.

Long drives are super comfy, but ATM machines can be a pain in the *** to work with.

6'3" here. Ditto the thing about the seat going all the way back which made it almost impossible to get out of. Turning that off, or minimizing it helped considerably.

For me the the seat is comfortable enough, but the overall width is atrocious. If you have a drink in the cup holder then your arm will be pressed against the drink. And if you then try and use the mouse then you will have to navigate around and push up against the drink too. Moving it to the rear cup holder helps a little bit. I would suggest anybody who is going to test drive place a bottle of water in the cup holder and decide if that works for you or not. I personally find it exceedingly irritating, though less so after a year of driving it.

Frankly, I like a lot about this car, but I don't think I would get it again simply because it's such a tight squeeze. I previously had a GS which had much more width (obviously), and prior to the IS I had an Audi A5. Like the poster above, the vertical was a bit more difficult in the A5, but there was vastly more shoulder/arm width.

I'm 6' 1" and drive over Snoqualmie Pass to Yakima (WA State) at least twice a month. I don't have any problems with feeling confined or claustrophobic. if anything I like the confined space, it makes you feel more in-tuned to your car and you really feel grounded. I've have larger vehicles with more cabin room and more often than not I would and could slide around in the seat and I didn't really feel "grounded".

My neighbor is a young airline pilot who flies the smaller jets and LOVED the feeling of the Lexus "cockpit"
