Is $175 for 5 windows a good price?

I went with llumar ctx 30 on front, back and rear. My front windshield was done with Solar Gard UP 70 and I gotta say it was a good choice but a bit pricey.

Love your M5 also. Your address number is right on the wall. Better scratch that out and protect your privacy. You also have the license plate on your M5. So you're the one that picked up that white IS350 from Steven's Creek. I believe it was sitting there for a while right when it got off the transport truck. I was deciding on that or the nebula, ended up with my nebby. Congrats. |
Keep the import and euro separate they might start fighting. Congrats on the tint too bad the sun went away but least you'll have some privacy inside your car.
|
Looks good! Cars look night and day better when adding something simple like tint! :)

Looking nice!

20% tint on top of the factory 70% would make this a 14% tint which explains why it looks so dark.

lol number of the house but no street address. John is talking about the first picture. But that's Canlas Mobile Tinting, either way he takes his clients to his house for tints. I know those people reputable tinters in the sj who also tinted my 3is ;)

Tint Dilemma! :(
Really like the classy look of having tints, but still being able to see into the car, which is why I have 50's on my Citrin Black on Amaro Brown 750Li, but for some reason I'm hesitant to go with 50's on my Nebula Grey on Rioja Red IS350 and it's killing me that the next grade darker are 35's. Tint guy says he has 43’s, but that they’d be $100 more!?
In short, I DO NOT want a ticket and I’m concerned the 35's may bring on same, but I'm uneasy with the 50's on the IS, as it's a smaller car than the 750Li (more easy to see into) and it doesn't have power side and rear window shades that can be rolled up on the press of a button for added privacy. Otherwise, I believe the glass on the 750Li is darker to begin with (which I'm happy with with 50's on), as it's double pane. Are 35's something police commonly have issue with? :( |
I have the same interior/exterior colors and am very happy with 55 front and 35 rear (15 sunroof). I live in CA
|
I have 15% all around and no issues
|
Thanks, Gentlemen.
15's are DARK! :D eyeball, can you please post a couple of shot of the side of your car so I can tell the difference between 55's (50's) and 35's, side-by-side? From outside, can you easily see what's laying on your front two seats on a bright sunny day? How about on your rear seats? |
20% is all ive had for the past 20 years in my cars and i only got 1 ticket for 50 bucks. for that price ill continue to take my chances.
my advise is to go 20% some call it 17% because factory glass has a slight tint, but it's the common dark tint but not limo tint! 20% will be dark enough to see there is a person in the car but unable to make out facial details in the day light hours. any darker makes it hard to see out at night |
Where in NY are you? I've gotten ticketed for 20 before in Brooklyn. Changed to 35 and so far no problems (knock on wood).

Search for this thread: What window tint looks best? My pictures are on page 6 |
Lol bro you're scared of 50% on your car? I have 50% on my windshield and 5% on everything else.
|
I have 35 on all 7 windows. my first time ever doing this on my cars and I love it.
white/rioja interior |
ive got 5% on all windows and 0% on the rear on my truck with an all (converted to black) interior, you can still see in the front windows slightly, but not much. I like the privacy.

Do tint shops remove the interior door panels to install the film?
My biggest concern is broken clips or damaged door panels and is making me think twice about tint now. Does anyone know if this procedure is needed to tint the 3IS? |

I got 35% on mine in MA with no problems. Once completed I noticed scares on the windows, I though it was tinting companying to find that it was this way from the dealer :(. Tints make these scares more noticeable!

Thanks everyone!
Many of your 35's seem dark. With 35's is it easy to see something laying (paperwork, etc.) on the front or rear seats? Think I may go with 50's on the sides and 35 on the rear... |
LOL, sorry I meant scratches! Typing on my phone....

This actually does make a difference in the amount you tint the car. Because its low and doesn't offer a lot of light into the car it will make the car darker inside. You can see the difference by standing next to a tinted IS and then get level with the windows the tint starts to lighten up. Plus it's already pre tinted, so it'll be darker than what you're going to put on it. I put 30% on my back windows, but now I wish I had done 40%.
Thanks! |

I actually noticed them on the window when I picked up the car and thought it was dirt. I took the car to the shop the very next day and thought they would clean the windows before tinting them. Once the windows were done, I noticed they were still there! Not that noticeable, but they are there!

Man I wish I could go as dark as you guys. Here in VA the limits are 50% front, 35% rear and rear windshield. And the cops here do not joke around about it.
