On my 2016 the colors are reversed. Red goes to purple in the far left slot and black goes to blue in the slot next to the purple. Basically the wires colors are swapped from the pic that Jason posted.

I have the same reverse set up as you on my 2016 ride (purple wire is in the far left ignition slot). Only thing is, when I tested the blue (ground) wire, it was reading at 0.01
Shouldn't the ground (blue) be reading at 0?
I just wanted to double check before installing my radar detector and screwing anything up.

anyone having trouble getting pins to fit in our small mirror connectors will have a much easier time if you go to Frys and get these...and save yourself $40 over buying a "MirrorTap" and make your own using these pins and a phone cord.

The reason I went with the mirror tap was for the short wire and the end that fits in the actual detector to power it up. Very clean set up.

right! made my own 'mirror tap' with some black phone cord and tapped it into the mirror with those small pins. looks great. used the blendmount set-up too.
For those that have a 2017 IS 200t F Sport. For reference I'm using an Escort iX with MirrorTap
Pull the lower plastic cover downwards. The top part should follow. Now both halves should detach from each other VERY easily. Then you should be able to remove it completely.
Theres 2 cables. Use the one on the right (the one that goes directly to the mirror).
Take your mirrortap and find the second smallest wire adapters. They should go in easily and come out with slight resistance. Black to blue and red to pink. That's it!
