Pull the lower plastic cover downwards. The top part should follow. Now both halves should detach from each other VERY easily. Then you should be able to remove it completely.

Theres 2 cables. Use the one on the right (the one that goes directly to the mirror).

Take your mirrortap and find the second smallest wire adapters. They should go in easily and come out with slight resistance. Black to blue and red to pink. That's it!

The mount the iX comes with is VERY strong
Thank you very helpful.

Here is a picture of how it turned out. One thing i did have to do is super glue the mesh to connector, after first time i unplugged dectotor it pull out of clip.

Depending on which route you go. I have a dashcamera hardwired to the fusebox, and i used fuse taps, i tape my cover over the top of the fuse box now because it won't close properly

The instructions are spot on but I have an issue removing the two piece cover as described, the lower half is easy to disengage but I cant seem to separate the smaller top piece. I cant see how it attaches and I don't want to break it, any suggestions?

so, i'm stuck here but with a falcon dash cam. the dash cam wires are red and purple and i've tried to tap into the mirror's blue and purple in both configurations. any help anyone?

edit: i'm using those little clip things that tap into both wires simultaneously ideally making a connection.

Default Hardwire into a accessory fuse

Hardwire in a accessory fuse (ex. cigarette lighter) and ground the black behind the bottom panel.

The pin locations are the same for all 3IS...however, between the years and models the wire colors may vary.
Example...if Pin #1 is Battery 12V, then it will be that on every 3IS, regardless if the wire is Pink, or Gray, or Blue, etc.

I have a RoAV C1 Pro Dash Cam, it uses a USB (Male Micro 5-pin) cable that goes into a USB cigarette lighter adapter.
How would I go about connecting a USB to to the rear view mirror? I like to do this for obvious reasons:

1) Cleaner
2) I can find a short USB cable and not have to use the long one that came with, and install the cables/hide.

Thanks
