Default Tire diameter increase

Guys,

I am thinking of increasing my car tire size from 225/40/18 to 225/45/18

and the rears from 255/35/18 to 255/40/18

do you think there would be rubbing issues?

Thanks!

There won't be a rubbing issue.
However your odometer and speedometer will be wrong

or you could go 10mm wider around for more grip. I went with 235/40/18 and 265/35/18. PSS are a lot more square than stock tire sizes so it was bigger than I expected but no rubbing

Hi.
Glad I found this thread.
I'd like to change from 18" to 17" wheels. Does anybody know if 245/45/17 tires will fit with no issues ?

Thanks a lot.

stock ER33 are thin even though my pilot super sports are 10mm wider with the same aspect ratio, the sidewall is a lot thicker

i calculated that you added around 3-4mm of diameter but it looks much more than that!

Maybe the width contributed to additional height?

not all tires are sized the exact way its calculated, you can get two 225/40/18 and they would be different sized. Stocks seem to be on the small side. Some tires are more square on the sidewall than others.
