Should I even take it in for the 5K ?
Looking at all they do is check tires and fluids and nothing major?

It's definitely not the most critical service. I recently took mine in for the 5k. I figured that it's free anyway. It's pretty much just an inspection and topping off of fluids. I asked them to update my nav firmware at the same time. It's also an opportunity to have them adjust your Lexus Personalized Settings if you so choose.

I also feel like it's a bit of extra warranty insurance. If something were to go wrong between now and the 10k service, I'd hate to have any warranty issues with them denying a claim stating that it would have been caught or prevented at the 5k service. Maybe a bit paranoid on my part, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

I took mine in just to have a record of service. I don't think they did anything really. Probably just stared at the car since it took less than 30min

It's good to have it on your service record. Doesn't take very long, either, and it's free.

Probably not worth the $9 in gas to get there and back, mine is scheduled for June 3rd but I'm just gonna play PS4 at home instead. if they were changing the oil that would be another story.

All they do is top off any low fluids and check the tire pressure. The main reason they put the 5K maintenance in for those casr is that for some reason, say a higher milage radiator begins to leak, at least they can catch it before the vehicle overheats and a new engine is needed.

True, but only on cars not running a staggered setup. I believe the stock 17" tires are the only ones they can rotate. The optional 18"s on the non F Sports and the F Sport 18" wheels/tires cannot be rotated.

I just took my 350 FSport in for the 10K service. This was the first oil change, balance tires, and all around check. My question pertains to the 5k maintenance interval. I noticed that my next service interval is 5k and not 10k later. I was thinking about doing my own oil changes ( with RSR RAN-UP) every 5K, as I can now tell the difference between the extended interval and performance. Do I really need to go to the dealer every 5K for them to " look" at the car? With the Fsport, they cant rotate the tires due to the staggered fitment. Its more visual inspection, and quite frankly I'd rather save the money vs flush it down the toilet on service that is " not needed". Any advice is welcomed. Thank you.

5k service is really just an inspection, they really won't do much of anything (this includes 15k, 25k, etc. The major services are every 10k). They'll check belts, fluid levels, and brake pad levels. All stuff you can do yourself easily. Also check your owner's manual, it specifically lays out what is done at each service interval. I haven't really checked mine in a while mostly because I haven't needed to yet.

Oil changes aren't required every 5k, you can do them every 10k. You're wasting your time and money if you do them sooner. With today's synthetic oils, even older engines can get by just fine with the longer service intervals.

I recommend doing the service at 5k, even if it is a simple one, as it is included/free and gives you an opportunity to have your dealer adjust any of the personalized settings. For the other 5k services that do not include an oil change (15k, 15k, etc.), you could easily do those at home. I would just make sure to note them in your service history account on Lexusdrivers.com.

My 5k service is tomorrow, i'm using it as an opportunity to address two issues that i'm having. One being the condensation i have in my passenger side headlight and the other being a paint defect on the passenger side skirt.

Other than that its an chance to change some of the personalized settings. Mainly the ability to role down the windows by holding the unlock button because black cars get so damn hot.

And I noticed keeping the finger on unlock on key fob the Windows aren't opening, I miss that feature. I'll ask for when I bring it in.
