Default Help a newbie out!

Hello CL! I am a new member and I own a IS 250 AWD F Sport and it's my very first Lexus. I know nothing about customizing cars so I decided why not ask CL! I want to get new wheels and coil overs but I have no idea where to start. I have never modded any cars before so my knowledge is very minimal. Plus I just don't want to buy whatever comes up on Google for the fear of buying a cheap product or paying more than I have to. Please help me out! Thanks.

If this is the wrong place to ask, please direct me in the right direction! Thanks!

Of all places, Tirerack just added the 2014 model to their wheel selector wizard and you can see what rims look like on your car. Another big place is element wheels.

Check for reviews on coilovers in the suspension sub forum. You'll see the reviews on systems like the RSR. The model is still young so the options are limited right now.

Welcome to CL! A good place to start would be all of the build threads. See what wheels other people have and find out what you like. The size of the wheels also depends on how low you want to go. You can go with either springs or coilovers. Go with the RS*R brand because those are the best ones out there based on the reviews and the good things members have said. I am running 20" Vossen CV5 and soon to be getting RS*R Down Springs. Check their website for info on that. They also make coilovers which can be adjusted 36 different ways. Hope you find something you like and if you have any questions, feel free to ask anyone here. We are all friendly

There are a lot of nice wheels on display in the build section. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/build-threads-256/

In addition, this thread shows a lot of wheels too. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...right-now.html

Have fun browsing.....

The most important thing is finding a reputable aftermarket shop that you trust will do a good job on the install if you are not doing it yourself. For example when i'm ready for anything the guys at ***************** would be the place I would trust my car to since I live in the bay area.

Ah I see. I haven't thought of that. I guess it's time to find one.

You happen to have a picture of your set up? I'm interested in the 20" Vossen CV7's as well.

Here are some pictures. My springs didn't come in yet so there are without them.

I had to run these tire sizes because of my springs that I am getting. They don't lower too much but they could rub on a beefier tire like a 245/275. I have 225/30/20 in the front and 255/30/20 in the rear. I might have been able to get away with 235/265 but I went with this just to be safe.
