Recently watched a video featuring 3IS F-Sport from european market. It comes with heated/cooled seats and parking sensors. Why don't we have these? #jealous

Not just Europe. It's everywhere outside North America. I wish they would just let us decide what we want to buy. The North American operation is still full of old traditionalist. It will take awhile to change that corporate culture. It took them almost half a decade to agreed get rid of the gold.

 

We get cooled seats, rain sensing wipers, led headlights, active high beams, power tilt....but none of those on the F-Sport. Why?

 

In terms of car options, I do love european car makers policy: they put everything as an option. You can get it as long as you pay for it. Yes, the end result is rather pricey but at least you get what you want. None of is250 here comes with ML audio for example, which I would pay the extra $$ in a heart beat. Also memory seats and power/telescopic steering column. I also want the power trunk closer. We need to file a complaint to lexus corporate. Lol.

 

No we don't. Those features are only available in the regular 3is. Not f-sport models

I kinda just assumed F-Sport would have it if base models have it.

Though not easy to find, it actually is available. My local dealer has one.

Lets face it.. Europe always has the good stuff.. US never gets the goodies.

 

It's because US cars are marketed differently. If we had all the options just like Europe the car would be $55k MSRP which would not make sense for this segment. BMW can get away with $60k 3 series but why not IS? I guess it's how Japanese cars are marketed.

I wish Lexus would at least make fully loaded IS by special order for US.

 

BUT WHYY NO Ultra Sonic Blue.. lol answer that one!

 

Blame it on Ultra White. If they had offered both UW and USB we know which color would be more popular. Maybe for MY15 they will offer USB.

 

Less options, lower price/costs. How else can Lexus sell a fully loaded IS in the low 40k when the MSRP is 49k.

 

Do any of my American friends import vehicle from Canada? I know that people occasionally bring up cars from the US, but it's a bit of a hassle with the DRL and bumper restrictions.
USB is not as popular as other colours, but it's still readily available (at least in Toronto, Canada).

 

It's not the same for all the european countries...
In Italy the 3IS F-Sport (sold only in the Hybrid version) comes with heated seats. Cooled seats are in optional with leather pack. And it's not possible to have parking sensor... You can have the rearview camera if you ask for the nav pack.
All other optionals (if available) are included in packs... I.E. Do you like ML? You have to buy even full led lights!
