Default How do you lock the doors?

Hey guys, I just leased an is350 F Sport. Absolutely love the car.

This seems like a really stupid question. But...

When I walk up to the car it automatically unlocks. Is there a similar way to lock the car? It seems to make sense, that if I can unlock the car without taking out my keys, i should be able to lock it somehow too. My previous car was an Infiniti G37 and it had a button on the door handle I could push to lock/unlock the doors.

Anything like this for the IS?

You shoud put your finger at the right spot on the door handle to lock them.
I have attached a bad image from the manual per illustration.

There are two grooves in the handle, one on top and one underneath. Touch them to lock. Touch inside of the handle to unlock.

It's called the "Owners Manual" - it's worth reading. Btw, it's tucked in that thing called a glove box located in front of the passenger seat on the dash. Refer to the Owners Manual for exact location.

While your "advice" is correct, this is a feature that could have been easily and quickly communicated to the customer by the dealer at delivery.

How do I unlock all the doors while touching the driver side door handle? It works with the passenger side if I just touch it like I do the driver's side.

Can't believe a dealer would let you leave without showing you this feature.

you have to change the setting in the car using the navi and change it to open all doors on drivers unlock.

You have to set this up through the customized settings in your display system.

Or through the remote as shown on page 107 here:

Thanks for the info guys. I'll admit I haven't read the owner's manual yet. I did look at the technology one since it was smaller. Give me a break though, I've only had the car for 3 days. Plus, that owner's manual is a novel!

Glad to know our cars have this feature. I would have been surprised if they didn't.

Don't apologize for asking a question. You'll may get a lot of smart@$$ comments from posters time and again. Just ignore and dont' take anything to heart. Heck you get guys arguing over the topic of removing or not removing protective film from their lower doors and bumper. Just ask away... you'll get an answer sooner or later.

Bad on that dealer to not show you how to work all the functions of the vehicle.

Dealer didn't even show me this function and I never really payed attention to that part of the groove on the handle. Yes, I missed it in the manual but no big deal, at least now I know
