I posted this in the Interesting Little Details thread, but I bought a pad and cut it to fit. Here's a picture:

Wanted to share my CD Slot Mount.
Loving it so far

Perfect Angle and location to see and still use the phone while you rest you hand near shifter area.
Also does not look like sore thumb sticking out with no phone in place.

It is a Exogear ExoMount Touch CD Slot Car Mount

Bare Mount

Iphone5

Nexus 5

thanks for sharing specONE!
looks good!

i was thinking of getting a CD slot mount as well, but with a magnetic mount
but also concerned that the CD slot mount can be a bit shakey during drive with the vibration?
and do you feel that having the phone there blocks most of the buttons on the console?

the location is perfect for accessing the phone while resting the arm on the shifter like you mentioned!

Has anyone tried to remove the hand/wrist rest behind the mouse controller? I wonder what is under the hump... Might be a good spot for a phone when removed...

for the 3IS without nav, that handrest is actually a spot that caves into the center console
the spot is perfect for sizes like the iphone
but for those who have bigger phones like me (samsung note 3), that space is basically useless

the CT has a similar spot and i've placed my previous iphone in that spot
i don't like having the phone laying flat on the center console
you can't really see the screen and its not comfortable trying to access the phone when its not facing you.

for mines its snug. Does not shake while driving down the road. once you turn the adjustment screw to wedge it in place , its good.

One time i tried to pull it out while mounted and you got to use some good force on it. only ended u shifting it slightly as i didnt wanna pull any harder and break my stereo.

also all the HVAC buttons are still pushable and not blocked with this particular mount. just have to look around the mount to press it.
The magnet one I looked at as well, but the CD slot part seems to be huge looking on that one.

thanks specONE!

perhaps i will revisit thw option of the CD slot mount
i'd like to stick with a magnet mount tho, cant really go back to clamps after the convenience and the minimal look of magnet mounts

the problem may be that my note 3 is a lot larger than the iphone and nexus 5, and so will block a lot more of the buttons on the console
that was why i had no choice but to place my mount on the dash

so, the stand on the infiniapps magnet stand looses its suction to my dash when it gets too hot inside the car.
after falling off the dash a few times, i'm tired of putting it back on.
plus, the place i had it was a bit too far for my liking anyways.
so i took the stand apart and found that the magnetic part fits perfectly where our analogue clocks are!
and since my wife really thinks the clock looks outta place, its the perfect place to put it!

I like this. I'm very impressed by this. Plus 1 for creativity and plus 1 for simplicity. Going to do this to my car also.
