Default Headlight Question...Is my headlight functioning normally?

So I was driving home tonight and found out that the LED strip did not light up when the headlight is on...I am not sure if this is normal for the Canadian normal but I thought it was supposed to be turned on as the headlight is on I guess? like the pic below

Is my headlight functioning normally?

There's a "DRL off" position on the headlight control - do you have it set to that?

Canadian IS doesn't have that switch....and later tonight I got pulled over by a cop...and the tail light was completely dead, not sure if there is anything to do with the front LED light...I didn't get a ticket (how nice) but he asked me to have it fixed ASAP. Afterwards, I went home pulled off the tail light fuse and found out it was burnt. Not sure if there is anything to do with the LED, but will have the fuse replaced tomorrow and see what's gonna happen.

Looks like you have upgraded your HIDs to LED headlamps with aftermarket means as for Canadian models, as it is impossible for 2014 F-Sport models.

My understanding is DRL is mandatory for Canadian models. Without modification, DRL would stay on once you release your parking brake.

So for the IS, the DRL should stay on regardless of the light position.

For 2014 IS, the LED DRL brightness is adjusted according to the light position --- when the low beam is on, the brightness is reduced. Without the low beam, the DRL would stay in full brightness.

Would that be something to do with the wiring? Also it may be something to do with how your shop has wired the non-NA spec F Sport LED fogs.

To the OP, it does appear that your lights are not functioning correctly if your DRLs do not remain lit, albeit at a lower level, when the headlights are on. I do not believe this is different for Canadian vs US models. I would take it in. They should remain lit, like the one in the picture you provided.

There is an option in the SW to turn the DRL off. If you go into Settings, Vehicle and Lighting I believe you will find that option. I may have put the exact path on how to find it in the "Interesting Things You Have Found" thread.

You can check there to see if that option may just be set incorrectly but if its set right than I would have it serviced because that's not normal.

Lexus can say your DRL warranty is vioded because you installed NON north american approved foglamps. Your aftermarket foglamp wirimg possibly caused the error.

Problem solved!!!!!!!! I took it to the dealership today, the tech found out that my Takeda intake bracket was rubbing against the headlight harness and stripped off plastic on the wire which connected with the LED DRL. When the stripped wire touched the car body, it created a shortage and caused the tailight fuse burnt. The tech rework with the wire and make sure the bracket will not rub against it and replaced the burnt fuse for me. HOWEVER, it was not covered under warranty, DAMN. For those who are installing their own short ram intake, please place the metal bracket carefully and make sure it's not rubbing against any harness.

To OP, glad your problem was resolved quickly.

How much labor was required to install both the LED headlamp and LED fogs? Thanks.

I don't think he has those, at least he has not mentioned them. The car in his original post is not his. He just used the photo to show what he thought the DRLs should look like. I think the car in the original post is a JDM model.

Good thing it was a simple burnt fuse Luke. Still better than my LEM's titanium intake pipe almost poked thru the fuel line. My car would be have been on fire lol. That fuel line replacement is nearly $70 USD for a short section.
