Question Does the 3IS rev-match? [6 speed]

Hi all, just wondering if the 3IS rev-matches the downshifts in M mode and Sport mode engaged. My friend claims to have driven the F-Sport AWD and said it shifts differently than my car.

I'm confused because it definitely blips the throttle when I downshift . I have a 350 AWD non F-Sport.

Thanks.

No the 6 speed automatic in AWD does not rev match. It does it the convention automatic way and slips the torque converter to slowly engage a lower gear and match the speed of the transmission to the speed of the engine rpms.

Thanks for the reply. So I'm assuming the F-Sport AWD doesn't rev match either.

I can confirm that the 350 AWD Fsport 6speed DO rev match. I run in M and Sport+ mode all the time and this is a feature that i like the most (rev-match). What i dont know is if the non-fsport rev match....

Rev match is only in the 8speed auto and ONLY occurs above a certain rpm, 5,000, I believe it is.l

How can you tell when it's rev matching?

This is taken from media.toyota.ca web site.

"6-Speed Super Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT)
The IS 250’s “6 Super ECT” close-ratio 6-speed automatic transmission features a sequential manual shifting mode. It incorporates numerous technologies including faster shift speeds, earlier torque converter lock-up and downshift throttle blips- to support the range of driving modes available through the Drive Mode Select system."

I'll make a little video in a few minutes to show what it is doing to prove it.

Sorry that is not rev matching as it only blips the throttle to match. Like above said, that is just downshift rpm increase. My 370z has true rev matching, so I can speak from experience.
