Yes, the nav will be optional on the 2015 for all models...
So none of the IS models with navigation are able to have a remote start?

Really? When I was at one of the local dealers in town, they said that Lexus was selling remote starters for the 3IS with navi, I didn't think anything of it though. But I didn't purchase my car from that dealer. That's odd that the navigation would mess with a remote starter.

I was hoping to get a Viper Remote start to use with my iPhone. I hate entering my car after it's been sitting in -40 for a few hours.

I e-mailed Lexus customer service and they said that RES cannot be installed or retrofitted in the 2014 IS250/350.
It's a really an odd issue; someone in the Lexus engineering department screwed up. I'm hoping viper comes out with a RES for the 2014 IS.

Yes it's a remote engine start, but it also allows the user to start the car from their phone.

Do you think it would be possible for Viper to somehow bypass the problem?

I just emailed Viper to see whether they had any plans to try and bypass the fault in the car so that RES would work. I'll update you guys once I get a response.

i'm interested in what viper has to say.

from my understanding, though, lexus' res will work, although it may/will destabilise the navigation/communications system so that integral components will not function as expected when required and may not be noticeable to the user. there were some dealers who somehow making the lexus res system work, although only to be told by lexus to stop doing so and to retrofit to original specs as it will screw up the navigation/gps/communications system or something -- at least that's what was posted here at some point by a few members.

It's not like Lexus promised that you would get it in the future. Their website does say that it is not available in this configuration.

I was interested to see any thoughts on additions to 2015 spec as I'm about to order in the UAE and this appears (to me) to be the best Lexus forum for information. The models here are more similar to the US spec - however we already get some of the features listed on this thread.....
- Memory seats
- Ventilated seats
- Fold/Tilt mirrors for reverse etc

I was interested that on the Japanese site it implies that the "Lexus Dynamic Handling System" is on the F Sport. I haven't seen that elsewhere. Maybe it will be offered in the future.

The option I can't get is remote start. :-(
It would be great if we could get the Ventilated seats here on an F-Sport. You can get it on a KIA but not on a LEXUS? The only reason I haven't purchased a new car this year. Lexus better step up.

Where do we stand on what the 2015 IS has that the 2014 IS lacks?

Has Lexus woken up to the fact the F Sport needs(?):

Memory Seats
Auto Dipping Passenger Side View Mirror
Power Steering Wheel
Heated Steering Wheel
Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers
Leather Interior
Ventilated Seats
Parking Sensors

Not to mention a Navigation / Radio System and Heated Seats that WORK.

Would be pretty awesome to see all of that on the F Sport, though I am not holding my breath.

It should be noted, however, that the power steering wheel is available in the 2014 F Sport with the VGRS option, though it would be great to see that standard, regardless of VGRS.
