I've never driven a car that didn't upshift by itself when it hit redline. Can you specify which car doesn't do this? It goes against logic because that would hurt the car and the warranty.

You should ride in an ISF then. The Rev limiter is in place to prevent you from over revving the engine so you shouldn't harm the engine by hitting it. I wouldn't make a habit out of it though

Yeah, revving to redline is not a big deal. I've done it in manual tranny cars and motorcycles many many times over the years. Rev limiter is there for a reason.

But it could very well be my driving style. Most of my driving is commuting, and most of my commute is in sub 30mph traffic.

Still, you'd think with the foot to the floor in S+ mode, regardless of driving habits, it'd at least get closer to redline before shifting
