Great tires for the sunbelt, and no mpg loss on my car. Don't underestimate what good tires can do for handling and overall enjoyment of the car.
Thanks for the rec, I wanted to see of there were any recommendations without loss on the mpg if there was an increase that would be a plus but it sounds like it is not even with it.

Look at the treadwear rating - like 140 I believe - and yes this is the summer tire model.

Er33 are good highway tires but if you push them hard they squeal like a little piggy

It doesn't have great grip but it was not meant to

those yokohamas are over $1000 a set for the IS. You can get pilot super sports for $800 or Conti DW for near $600.

I think I want to go with a good all season for my replacements, instead of more summers.
I saw the reviews on Tire Rack for Conti Extreme Contact DWS are good.

Does anybody have any personal experience with this tire??

Yes, they are excellent. Friend and I have had both the original DWS then the DWS06 and they were great, and very affordable. The first set were rated for 80,000kms but I think I had them for around 100K, and the 06's treadlife is rated even higher.

Why bump a really old thread? It has been 5 years since the last comment

Though I will agree, I've driven an IS with these tires and they seemed very composed.

Was sniffing around, and saw it went unanswered... just in case doodlebug was waiting all this time and running on steel belts, lol.

I’m glad I didn’t wait for a response.

I did put the DWS’s on and didn’t like them. All sets since have been Michelin.

you know with performance tires their often so sticky they pick up road debris and throw it up at the wheel wells? Did the dws’s do that?

That is a good question. I know my Comp-2's pick up small rocks sometimes. I haven't gotten any dings, etc. from this, however, just some noise.

I don't think so. I had the two sets on my Z4 and my friend on his Mazda 3. I went from the factory runflats, so that was of course an upgrade. We just found them to be an excellent all-round tire with good tread life, and for less than comparable ones with similar ratings or even lesser ratings. Great in dry, very good in wet, and decent enough in snow, too. Researched through Tirerack and just couldn't justify spending more for other "brand names".
