Default Led puddle lights

I tried installing Led puddle lights today but couldn't get the mirror off. I checked out the Diy pics in the GS forum but I'm scared I'm going to break the mirror when I pull on it. Anyone have any other tips?

I just put mine in today. All you do is pull the mirror straight off and it will pop out. Dont try to push the tabs like it says in the GS thread, youll just hurt your fingers

I thought the same , I tried the way the DIY said but like he said , fingers were killing me after ! Just pull the mirror out slowly but firmly , u can see the tab coming off and once that is off just do the same to the other ones , watch how easy it is to take off , the only pain in the butt is when u put everything back , make sure u line up the mirror so there is no gaps when putting it back together !! Good luck , you will be happy when u finish with it ;-)

Yes you will , just make sure you hear it snap on all 4 corners !! Like I said the worst part is putting it all back together again and that's not hard either ;-)

I was able to successfully replace the puddle lights. It was a pain getting the mirror off at first, especially with the fear of breaking it, but after the first time of taking it off you get used to it. I did end up braking one of the 4 tabs on my passenger side though, but it holds together just fine with 3 and a half tabs still in place. For me it was harder putting it back together to get it everything to align properly, after a few attempts I finally got it all in right.

How does this compare to the LP4 package that HID Powerhouse is selling for 3IS? Can you use these for all the interior lights including the trunk and reverse light also?

I have not seen the hidpowerhouse LP4 package so am not sure how they compare. I can say that these lights are direct replacements for all of your interior lights including trunk, puddle, and reverse lights though.

I changed out all the vanity, puddle, footwell, door courtesy, trunk lights with these. For the reverse I plan to get some really bright cree LED bulbs. For the map lights Im getting a custom fitted LED panel.

Price wise these seems like real good deal if the quality is good.
