I specifically asked a Lexus dealer to let me sit in both ML and non-ML cars so I could make up my own mind. I brought some quality CDs with classical music, old pop, etc. I sat like 30 mins in each, I cranked up the volume, lowered the volume, I came out very, very impressed with the ML system and determined to get a car with this system.

I honestly have to agree with a previous poster if the people that have said ML sucks actually sat in a lexus with a ML system in it. My is350 has the ML system and when I got a loaner with no ML it was a night and day difference. The ML system definitely has strong bass and crisp sound. While the non-ML definitely sounds like any old car stereo, flat and severely lacking bass. Don't know how much baas people want but when I blast my ML system people definitely have said it's loud AF with nice bass.

Probably, I've always been a bose fan myself since that's the sound system I have for my house which sounds fantastic. Honestly, I never even heard of mark Levinson until I got my lexus. Lol but compared ML to non-ML there's definitely a big difference.

The ML system is good, but seems underpowered compared to a Bose or Harmon System. I have the ML system in the GX470 with the entertainment system and it doesn't have that cinematic and surround feel like the Bose system.

Quick question what volume level do you usually turn up when listening to music in your 3IS? I'm usually satisfy around 24 to 30.

It's so strange you guys think Bose sounds good. I had a G35 with Bose and everyone on the forums called it Blose cause it sucks. Same with the G37. I prefer the ML cause it sounds much crisper thank the Blose.

I don't know maybe it's preference. I've had both the Bose and ML system and enjoyed the Bose system more. I recently drove the NX with the ML system and noticed it's a lot better than the non ML system. There's a thread about some members not satisfied with the ML system.

Usually have the volume at 35-40. Most of the time 35.

I had a 250 with the stock sound system and traded it in for a 350 with the ML system. I highly recommend the ML system. The sound quality is so much better. The sound is very crisp and clear whereas the the stock system sounds dull and flat in comparison.

just got a loaner, a base 250 with the base sound system. after turning the music on, i want my car back so bad... btw i haven't heard the base sound system till now. i went straight to the ML when i purchased my car. such a big difference.

While the Standard Lexus sound system is most often sufficient, you can never go wrong with the Premium ML Sound System if it falls within the budget!

If I buy the LS I would definitely want the MK. On the GS, maybe. On the IS, I think it's waste of money. The base system is adequate enough for me.
