We walked into the dealer on October 20 ready to buy. There wasn't a single Matador Red with Flaxen interior anywhere in the US or on any of the boats headed to the US. All the red cars had parchment or black interiors, didn't matter what trim level, or model, none matched for that combo.

So we ordered what appears to be the first of its type. Scheduled to be built Monday.

When should we expect it at the dealer in the Seattle area?

 

After they start building it takes about 1 month to arrive at Portland port. I'll probably be another week or two to get to your dealer. so I would say any where from 1 month to 1.5 months from now.

 

Both your exterior and interior colors are rare!

I've seen them separately, and together I'm sure they'll look great!

 

It's my favorite combo too. I saw one in the showroom at my dealer. It's IS 250 AWD but they don't have it in stock for sale.

 

They called us Saturday, the car is on the boat. So it's looking like the week of Jan 13 for delivery.

 

This was the exact same color combo I was looking for back in July when the car was released and had the same problem you had.

I ended up with white on red instead just because I couldn't wait at the time. They said it would have to be a special order and could take 3 months...but i wanted the car now.

Congrats! Very nice color combo. You also have the luck of being in the Pacific Northwest. In the Northeast we have to wait 3-4 exra weeks for our special orders...something about the Panama Canal detour, etc., etc.😊

 

We couldn't believe we had to order to get this color combo, but my wife keeps her cars for a long time and was willing to wait to get exactly what she wanted. Me, I change cars like shoes, they're lucky to last four years.

 

93 days after order, it's here, we took delivery yesterday afternoon. Had the dealer check inventory, still no other Matador Red / Flaxen in the US. We think it looks great and everyone at the dealer liked it too. The manager said they were going to order one for inventory.

Which dealer did you go through?

 

When we started the whole car shopping thing were liking the GS F-Sport in Red w/Flaxen. But the GS was just too big. If we could have gotten the IS F-Sport in Red w/Flaxen, that would be in the garage instead of the current White w/Red F-Sport.

Work has had me leaving the house before sunrise and returning after sunset so I haven't been able to get any pics. Maybe today..

 

How is it working with them? I always use Lexus of Seattle, and love them. I've heard some good things about Tacoma.

And as for it being dark both before and after work, yeah, I get that...
