So I'm getting my new is350 fsport on the 10th of next month, I'm thinking about taking it on a long road trip, about 700-800mile one way, is it bad for the new car? Any thoughts
Your car can handle it, and I wouldn't worry about the so called break in period (which is so lame). If our new Lexus's can't handle a 800 mile drive brand new - then we all got duped. Have fun, and enjoy the various modes.
Just follow the break in recommendations in your owners manual and you'll be fine. They are the guys who engineered, built and warrantee the drivetrain.
I've had 5 Lexus vehicles and have never really done any of those things about the break in, just have not abused it*brand new and I have never had a single problem with any of them. I took both RXs I've had from miami to orlando (about 200 miles each way) when they had less than 500 miles on them. Just don't red line the heck out of the car and it will be fine.

Based on some posts I've read on this forum, the answer to your question might depend on whether you leased or bought your car ....
I bought my car in CA and was moving to AZ in a couple of weeks. Started the drive at 450 miles on the odometer, racked up to 1200 by the time I got the AZ. Car's fine, just be sure not to drive too hard.
