You are right the covers are easier to clean. But dirt collects underneath them anyways. If you like covers great. But no one ia going to see them most of the time unless you like driving without a hood. The covers just adds to the hassle when I want to work on the car. And nothing wrong with a lightened hood to save weight. Love the lightness of the aluminum hood on my s2k. Added hood struts and have to gradually lift the hood or it would fly up. The hood on my old S4 was heavy and needed the hood struts to assist lifting it.

I don't care if no one sees them. I see them and yes, I prefer the covers.


Its like people who buy shiny intakes. No one sees them. But they buy it cuz they like it. Even though its a warm air intake.
